He may have only played a handful of games for the club, but Lukas Podolski has certainly made a big impression already and many feel as though he could be the answer to the club’s lack of firepower following Robin Van Persie’s exit. After making such an impact, the German striker has hinted that he could even get a tattoo of the club on his body if things continue to run so well for him.
Having joined from Colgone in the summer for a reported £11m, many people were eager to see how the 27-year-old would fare after becoming such a hit in the Bundesliga over the years. The player was constantly top of the scoring charts and the fact that he boasts forty four goals for his national team speaks volumes about his striking prowess.
It was this form in front of goal that allowed him to experience such a lasting association with former outfit Cologne. Podolski joined the club when he was just 10-years-old and while he did leave for Bayern Munich for a brief period, he made no secret about his love for the club. This was taken a step further in the form of a tattoo of the crest of the club on his right arm.
It might not be too long before he adds to his body art collection either, with the striker claiming that he would consider an Arsenal tattoo if things continue to progress at such a positive rate. He told the press, “Cologne meant so much to me because I was there for a long time, maybe I will do the same with Arsenal because I like this club. It is a big club and maybe we can do a tattoo. We can speak about this in the next three or four years.”
