Even though Arsene Wenger is in the search for a new forward, Giroud believes that there is absolutely no need for him to be looking for someone in the transfer market as Podolski has already made a full recovery.
Speaking to French television station Canal+, Giroud was quoted as saying:
‘’If the coach wants me to rest, he can do it without buying a new striker. Lukas Podolski is having a good comeback. Theo Walcott can play as a striker. We have the quality and the quantity. I would rather not see a new striker come in’’.
It does seem very clear however that Arsene Wenger wants to bring in someone new to the club with some fans even believing that a high profile player might just arrive like the surprise addition of Mesut Ozil to the club some months ago.
Diego Costa is a priority target of Real Madrid but Arsenal as well, one of the bigger problems that Wenger’s side will have on signing the Brazilian player of Atletico Madrid is surrounding his release fee which is £32m and having already offloaded almost the same amount for the German Mesut Ozil, it is rather difficult to believe that they will be splashing out so much cash considering all the other options that are available in the transfer market.
Diego Costa has been enjoying a sensation season so far and his abilities will undoubtedly help out Arsenal in their journey of securing the Premier League silverware but a more economic wise option seems to be the more appropriate and viable option.
If Real Madrid can sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool, then Alvaro Morata becomes a much easier target for Arsenal to sign although Suarez extended his contract with Liverpool not too long ago and already stated his satisfaction in playing where he is right now.
