Tevez Reiterates Messi Dispute Does Not Exist

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has once again stated that he has no problem with Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, whose presence in the Argentine national team appears to have been the reason behind his exclusion from the World Cup 2014 squad. Tevez reportedly does not get along with place and this has been stated as one of the main reasons behind manager Sabella leaving the 30-year-old out of the squad from the World Cup. There have been various calls for Tevez to be recalled to the team, but Sabella has resisted the pressure to do so.

Tevez has revealed that he will be spending time in Florida rather than watching his team played in the World Cup. It is highly expected that the 30-year-old will be announced his retirement from international football sooner rather than later. After having scored 18 goals in the league alone for Juventus last season, Tevez was looking to get back into the team for the first time since 2011. He has not played for Argentina since the Copa America tournament several years ago. Due to the several protests from fans calling for his inclusion, there is uncertainty surrounding the squad.

Tevez has requested the fans to drop their protests and support the team instead.

“I’ve already bought tickets to go with my wife and children to Disney World. They deserve the trip and I’m very clear where my place is. Things are as they are and that’s it. I’ll still be Argentina’s No1 fan but I don’t think I’ll be able to watch the games because it would make me very nervous and nostalgic,” said Tevez. Unlike Lionel Messi, Tevez made his name in Argentine football before moving to Europe and playing for the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City. This is one of the reasons he is held in high regard in his home country.
