Hamza Hamzaoğlu is the manager of Galatasary and even though his squad has failed to win a single match from any of their 3 opening matches of the season, the Turkish coach is certain that his team will be able to bounce back and defend their league title.
Galatasaray are the current champions of the Turkish Super Lig after being able to clinch the previous season and they now have the task of defending their piece of silverware but the start of the 2015-16 season has seen Galatasaray drawing twice and losing once from their 3 initial matches.
The 45 year old manager wants to keep his players and the fans of the club assured that this early struggle in the season is not something that should keep them worried as it’s only a temporary bump in the road.
Cesare Prandelli is the previous manager of Galatasaray and predecessor of Hamza Hamzaoğlu but the Italian coach had to be sacked after he kicked off his campaign with an underwhelming start of a season. Hamza Hamzaoğlu is now going through a slow start but he isn’t worried about their current form as he said:
“Today, we could not finish with a win in our first home match of the season. It means we have deficiencies in our play and made mistakes. My players did their best. But we could not find the net.”
The reactions from our own fans are not nice. If the rival fans do this, I deem it normal. Anyway, we are here for them. Nobody needs to worry. We are passing through a temporary period. After the big successes, it will be difficult to continue on the same path. Everyone will see what Galatasaray are.”
From the 3 opening matches of the season, Galatasaray has conceded 5 goals which is a high amount of goals for a squad which only managed to concede 35 goals in the entire previous season. The star goal-keeper is Fernando Muslera but he has recently been slipping up and showing some mistakes
This certainly is not the best way to kick off a new season but Hamza Hamzaoğlu is certain that he and his team will be able to return to their usual best soon and start collecting points.
