Lukas Podolski appearance dropeed in League

The German forward of Arsenal, Lukas Podolski has went from making 33 league appearances for Arsenal during his debut season for the team of Arsene Wenger to dropping down to 20 appearances and now has only played in 3 matches.

With the recoveries of Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud it does not seem like the future of Lukas Podolski will be changing anytime soon as the German attacker is mostly being used as an impact substitute player but his influence at the Emirates Stadium has dropped enormously since he joined Arsenal a few years ago.

Due to Podolski not playing a very influential role for Arsene Wenger, it was rumored that Podolski was going to be sold in the January transfer window in order to create funds to sign other players and release from the club fringe players but it has now been revealed by Wenger that he has no intentions of selling the German forward or releasing him.

“It is not established at all that he will leave at Christmas. It is me who sets the price and (the reported deal) doesn’t correspond at all to his price. He is not for sale and there is no offer.Podolski plays a position where there is a big competition’’ Arsene Wenger told the media as he responded to questions concerning the situation and future of Lukas Podolski.

Even if you don’t take into consideration some of the attacking players that are completing or have recently completed recovering from their respective injuries, there also is a list of offensive player that Podolski would have to compete against in order to have a fair shot of being consistently chosen by Arsene Wenger and utilizing in his starting XI lineup which includes: Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, YayaSanogo, Joel Campbell and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Lukas Podolski is well-aware of all the competition that he will have to face in order to have any chance of performing consistently for Arsenal and the German attacker displayed his frustration for his lack of matches in the Premier League club as he said:

“I’ve spent the last four months making brief appearances. I’ve had to wrap myself up warm in my winter coat with my hat and scarf on to watch the others playing.I would rather show Arsenal what I am capable of, but this chance to show what I can do is not being given to me.I want to play football for many years to come so am I meant just to say everything’s fine and sit my contract out?””Anything is possible nowadays. You can’t rule anything out.” Lukas Podolski said as he stated that there is a real possibility of joining another club soon if things continue how they are going in Arsenal.

Lampard Might Miss Out On Manchester derby

Lampard is most likely to miss out on Manchester Derby this time given serious thigh injury. However, his teammate Nasri (Samir) is all fit now to take up the challenge for Derby clash at Etihad Stadium.

Lampard suffered a terrible blow to his thigh in 4-1 triumph against Tottenham and the situation is critical enough to not to let him play at the Derby match.

“He is still down with muscle injury”, stated Manuel Pellegrini, the manager for Manchester City. “I don’t feel that he would be fit by this weekend- however, next week might look positive for him.”

Nasri’s bad groin injury made him miss out on past 7 matches of his team. He had his surgery in September and by now he is fit enough to make his comeback with the Manchester City match against Newcastle.

Pellegrini had positive views about Nasri’s present fitness quotient.

“Samir is playing with normality now & he’s in squad list. Added to him, all our players in the current squad are completely fit”, added in the Manchester City manager. However, the celebrated former footballer has declared not to use Samir all through the match.

“I have not decided on who would be starting for the match yet. Nasri is just back from a critical injury. He is definitely not ready to go on for long 90 minutes but I am sure to get some minutes morrow.”

Pellegrini’s club are the holders of League Cup now after defeating Sunderland in past season’s finale.

“It’s very crucial for us to achieve trophies. The competition doesn’t matter. We are gearing to win all the 4 competitions in similar way. However, winning title at the Wembley surely comes with extra perks. It’s the most significant stadium of the world where you have a huge volume of 80,000 spectators watching you play.

Wenger Believes Premier League Has Started Too Early

Arsene Wenger believes that the Premier League has kicked off way too early and this has affected his main team as some players could not be added to his starting lineup of Arsenal’s opening match against Crystal Palace.

The German trio consisting of: Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski have only just made their return to the training camps of Arsenal in England as they took an extended break following Germany’s 2014 World Cup triumph. None of them were featured in Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace as they just could not make it in time to play along with some of their new teammates and had to miss out from training sessions of Arsenal.

The Italian league Serie A will start on August 30 while the other top tier league in Europe, the Spanish league initiates on August 23 which certainly does give the players and managers of those leagues more time to develop new formations and a short break from the 2014 World Cup.

Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger said: “We are a bit short in our preparation. We had 11 players at the World Cup. The final of the World Cup was on July 13; the start of the Premier League season is August 16. If you don’t give players enough holidays or enough build-up in their preparation and play them straight away, then they get injured’’.

An example of these rushed league schedules can be seen in the French league where the Brazilian Thiago Silva sustained an injury that will leave him out of action for a few weeks as the captain of PSG suffered a hamstring injury during a friendly encounter against Napoli just a few days before the French league kicked off.

The French manager of Arsenal says that players need time to readjust and play with their respective clubs which takes more than just a few days as well as needing to take a break as a way to avoid unnecessary injuries.
