Tevez Reiterates Messi Dispute Does Not Exist

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has once again stated that he has no problem with Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, whose presence in the Argentine national team appears to have been the reason behind his exclusion from the World Cup 2014 squad. Tevez reportedly does not get along with place and this has been stated as one of the main reasons behind manager Sabella leaving the 30-year-old out of the squad from the World Cup. There have been various calls for Tevez to be recalled to the team, but Sabella has resisted the pressure to do so.

Tevez has revealed that he will be spending time in Florida rather than watching his team played in the World Cup. It is highly expected that the 30-year-old will be announced his retirement from international football sooner rather than later. After having scored 18 goals in the league alone for Juventus last season, Tevez was looking to get back into the team for the first time since 2011. He has not played for Argentina since the Copa America tournament several years ago. Due to the several protests from fans calling for his inclusion, there is uncertainty surrounding the squad.

Tevez has requested the fans to drop their protests and support the team instead.

“I’ve already bought tickets to go with my wife and children to Disney World. They deserve the trip and I’m very clear where my place is. Things are as they are and that’s it. I’ll still be Argentina’s No1 fan but I don’t think I’ll be able to watch the games because it would make me very nervous and nostalgic,” said Tevez. Unlike Lionel Messi, Tevez made his name in Argentine football before moving to Europe and playing for the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City. This is one of the reasons he is held in high regard in his home country.

Gazidis Believes Arsenal Should Not Rest Easy

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has stated that the club should not be resting on its laurels after winning the FA Cup final. Instead, they should be looking at winning more trophies in the future. Arsenal finally ended the trophy drought that has been plaguing them for several years with the FA Cup trophy this summer. They managed this victory after a 3-2 win over Hull City in the final of the competition. Arsenal could have easily lost yet another final after going two goals down to Hull within 20 minutes. However, they finally proved that they have made a lot of progress under Wenger to come back spectacularly.

The title may not get help them overcome the disappointment of having lost the Premier league title, but Ivan Gazidis says that it can be the start of the bright future for the club. The FA Cup victory will also help the club convinced Arsenal Wenger that he should extend his contract. The Frenchman said after the match that everything had been finalised for a new three-year deal and he should sign it in the next few days. It was previously thought that he was delaying this decision in order to look at the result of the FA Cup.

“We have a good platform to build on – it’s a great day for us to celebrate and we should do that as the Arsenal family. But tomorrow we start work again and we’ve got to use this to progress the club, to take it forward. This was a very big step, to have the players understand what it takes to come through that kind of adversity, to get over the line whatever it took is a big step and now we need to take the next step,” said the chief executive.

Mertesacker & Rosicky Extend Contracts

Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker have extended deals with EPL title contender Arsenal of late. The German center-back has been duly able to come up as a star first-team regular right from 2011. Rosicky is presently in his 8th season with the club.

Arsenal, haven’t yet declared about the span of the new contract extensions. “We’re just delighted that Rosicky and Mertesacker have dedicated their futures here”, declared Arsene wenger, the Arsenal manager.

They are some of the most exception & experienced players. Both of them have proven their worth consistently at the best level. There’s a wonderful feeling of togetherness & belief in our squad & this news would only aid to power it up further.”

The 29 year old German star has made around 110 appearances as an Arsenal player, scoring 5 goals. He has even led the squad this season when both Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen were not present.

“It was pretty simple on my side to dedicate myself for the club”, noted Mertesacker who recently published one of his childhood pictures wearing Arsenal shirt on Twitter.

“I’ve been playing here for 2 & a half fantastic years & feel I’ve received huge support from everybody at Arsenal & the supporters. I am actually looking to be with this amazing club for some more years in future.”

Rosicky till date had made around 209 appearances as Arsenal player, scoring twenty-four goals. “I am very happy to stay at the club”, noted the star Czech midfielder. “I am proud that I am still here even after so many years & that it’s still continuing.”

COSTA NEXT?

Even though Arsene Wenger is in the search for a new forward, Giroud believes that there is absolutely no need for him to be looking for someone in the transfer market as Podolski has already made a full recovery.

Speaking to French television station Canal+, Giroud was quoted as saying:

‘’If the coach wants me to rest, he can do it without buying a new striker. Lukas Podolski is having a good comeback. Theo Walcott can play as a striker. We have the quality and the quantity. I would rather not see a new striker come in’’.

It does seem very clear however that Arsene Wenger wants to bring in someone new to the club with some fans even believing that a high profile player might just arrive like the surprise addition of Mesut Ozil to the club some months ago.

Diego Costa is a priority target of Real Madrid but Arsenal as well, one of the bigger problems that Wenger’s side will have on signing the Brazilian player of Atletico Madrid is surrounding his release fee which is £32m and having already offloaded almost the same amount for the German Mesut Ozil, it is rather difficult to believe that they will be splashing out so much cash considering all the other options that are available in the transfer market.

Diego Costa has been enjoying a sensation season so far and his abilities will undoubtedly help out Arsenal in their journey of securing the Premier League silverware but a more economic wise option seems to be the more appropriate and viable option.

If Real Madrid can sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool, then Alvaro Morata becomes a much easier target for Arsenal to sign although Suarez extended his contract with Liverpool not too long ago and already stated his satisfaction in playing where he is right now.
